Clip to ScrapBook
I don't know about your state or particular school district concerning their guidelines for new teachers and mentors. To find out for sure you should check with your principal. For the most part, most schools do have a mentoring program that may or may not meet your needs. Regardless to if your school does assign you a mentor (that can be a good place to start), once you meet your fellow teachers you will find someone you are comfortable/like-minded with. I've been teaching for a while now, but have also moved quite a bit and my "official" mentor (chosen for you) and my "personal" mentor(someone I choose) have not been the same person. In each case, this person has turned out to be invaluable. Best wishes...
