lit centers
By Amy

Clip to ScrapBook
hi there, i have run my centers in 2 different ways. the one i like the best is very hard to describe, but i'll try. i would create 10 centers for the week. students go to 2 a day. 1/2 hour for each. i would put up icons
representing each center in two rows of 5. 2-3 students would be listed under each center. when the bell rang, instead of me moving their names, they would just go to the center that was either below or above the one they just finished. in other words, they would go to the one that their name was under first and then switch to the other one. does that make any sense at all? i liked this
way because i would create the centers for the week and be done with it. the kids had center folders to put their work in.

the other way is on a rotation basis. 5 centers a day for 20 minutes each.
