Look for a site with reproductions of movie posters, they shouldn't be too expensive. You could use the whole poster, or cut out the principal characters, laminate them and imcorporate them into a board.
Another thing I have seen is kids' coloring books with that theme. Or check your school or public library for a book and enlarge pictures. My kids had a Little Golden Book of the Wizard of Oz, I doubt that one is still available, but there should be something. It sounds like a fun theme.
