Clip to ScrapBook
Hi-
My situation is a little different because all of my kids arrive at the same time - but we have about 15 minutes to "kill" before the morning news comes on.
I usually have morning work written on the board for them to do in a "morning work notebook" kept in their desk. (It's easier to write it on the board than to have copies made for each morning.)
The work is:
1. DOL (2 sentences to edit)
2. Math review (I write 5 or 6 problems relating to something we've already covered; multiplicaiton facts are always a good stand-by)
3. Journal prompt or free writing time

If someone finishes up all of that work, they can read quietly (usually only for a minute).

Hope this helps!
Brooke
