Clouds
By Ally

Clip to ScrapBook
A friend gave me a booklet she did with her K/1's this year on clouds...she listed each type of cloud and then read a book (or pages from a book...I doubt there are books about each type of cloud at the K/1 level about each
type of cloud then the kids made that type of cloud. I did not see the finished product but she told me they used cotton balls for one type, pastels for another, fabric for another...I can not remember how many she covered but she did use a different "medium" for each one.

You could add pages to the booket detailing (in simplified form) how clouds form. Mabye do it as cloze and the

kids could fill it it with you. Your first lesson could be a KWL chart...to get an idea how much they know about clouds already. I bet www.enchantedlearning.com would have some good ideas for you...have fun...Ally

PS You could probably find more ideas for weather though...it is more general a topic. I have read "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" and the kids loved the story. It could be a start off point for you to discuss weather patterns.
