Word walls are great...if you really use them. Several years ago I purchased an expensive fifty dollar set that I never got to hang properly and spent hours attaching velcro...rip off.I've found that it's easier/more useful to post high frequency words...come with many basals...Also student needs should dictate necessary words.(How do you spell this when writing,etc. Many teachers have sectioned off blackboards to create write-in word walls.Some fix a bulletin board and simply write the words on index cards...Another comment about my purchase...never did find out the rationale of word selection.
