This is just my personal and honest reply. Please do not take it wrong. I think limiting yourself and sending letters to only certain schools could look bad on you especially if the other schools are lower income students.
I don't know this to be true from your post. It's just a statement. If the school is political, then what you are saying about not getting a job could very well be true. Personally, I would go elsewhere even if I had to drive. If you really want this particular district, then go to every school and send a letter to every school. If they see you are willing to forget the past and
come in to the school, then maybe they will too. Maybe they will see you as being a strong individual. I like your idea about sending the letter and business cards. I feel whatever bad relations happened in the past are going to have to be resolved before you get in to that district. I'm sorry that this happened to you and your family. Sometimes, even when we're right, we get hurt in the process and it could have major outcomes like what you are going through right now. Good luck to you. Please know that I understand why you want to limit yourself but I wanted you to know what I felt could result from that.
