letter
By Susan

Clip to ScrapBook
When I used to sub, I went to the schools personally. I told them I was interested in subbing and what kind of experience I had (working in my church, etc...). They called me EVERY DAY. Before the year was up, one school
offered me a full-time teaching job for the next year. I don't say that bragging - I say that to say that I think it helped to have me go in personally. I think the business card is a great idea - you can leave it with them so they have a convenient way to call you. I would also put my email address on there.

As far as the letter - I would just say something simple like, "I have

recently been accepted as a substitute in _____district. I am very interested in your school and would like to be called upon if you should need a substitute. Enclosed you will find a business card for your convenience. I am open to an interview, if you would prefer to meet me personally. Thank you for the opportunity to serve in your school system. I look forward to hearing from you."
