I have just been hired also to teach a 4th grade resource room! I am doing a Hollywood theme to incorporate the California theme you could do that? Make a palm tree for your reading center, get a red carpet for the center also. There are some great ideas I got from others on this site. Just check out the posts titled Hollywood! Good Luck
