    Hi,
I recently interviewed and accepted my first teaching job for this coming fall. I suggest that you keep your cover letter short (no more than one page). Also personalize it to specific principals or whoever is doing the hiring. I would write, "Dear Mrs. So and So" instead of "To whom this may concern". If you have worked, student taught, or volunteered in the district you are applying at make sure to highlight that in your cover letter. Also if you have any talents that are specific to your job. I made sure it came across that I am enthusiastic and would make a great addition to their teaching staff. You can e-mail me too and I will send you a copy of my cover letter. I actually borrowed a friend's cover letter, and then made several changes. You can also look on the internet for samples of teacher cover letters. Good luck!
