Descriptive Paragraph
By Susan

Clip to ScrapBook
I just remembered another thing I did, that would work with chocolate. Have several types of chocolate in a dish (tootsie rolls, small candy bars, etc..), and they pick one. They have to use their 5 senses to write a descriptive paragraph (or essay, depending on how far along your students are) about that candy. Explain how their adjectives should be "alive" and not boring.

The other part you can do with this is have them write an advertisement to persuade someone to buy either that piece of candy or a made-up one. Then they decorate the paper with their advertisement.
