I'm planning on using a sports theme too. I've found all these ideas using the archives section on this site. For my job chart, I'm planning on using the title "Pitch In" and have baseball mits as the job and baseballs with each student's name, I'll probably use the velcro dots as a way of changing the jobs around.

I like the way you keep record of attendance...the perfect score thing sounds great too.

I'm not sure what grade you are, I just realized that. I'm fourth grade. I plan on making a bulletin board with "kicking off a great year" and each child will have a football. I found this idea from my mailbox superbook...it's got a little football sheet they complete with 'goals' for the school year, etc. You attach a brown football cutout on top of the sheet that the student completes.

I need a saying for outside my door...thought about just doing the ole' "we make a great team"...but I need something cute to go with that. Parents and students are coming before the first day for open house/meet the teacher, etc. so I won't have any student work to go with it. I would love to put polaroids of each child, but that won't be possible for me to do so early.

I've also come across... homerun spellers, where each child has a pennant(sp) and it's used as some sort of incentive each time they do well on a test or something.

Field of dreams....this could refer to your classroom library...or either "the reading dugout"

This is all I can think of for now...it's late and I'm worn out!
