Kelly- First of all, I think that the people on this board are being a little harsh on you. I do not blame you for wanting the best for your child. You should not subject her to this type of teacher. If she is mad, I would just tell her in as diplomatic a way as possible that you just don't think that her teaching style would be a good fit for your daughter. The reason why people like this are allowed to stick around is because of unions and tenure. It's great to have a union but unfortunately they protect ALL teachers-even the bad ones. Good luck and you are not overprotective.
