Here's my idea
By Jenn

Clip to ScrapBook
This will be my first year in 3rd. I'm moving down. Here's what I'm thinking of doing but I do not have it completely planned out. I'm thinking of giving each student 4 yellow and 4 green chips. I will number them with
permanent marker so I know who they belong too. If I see a undesirable behavior I will take a yellow meaning "Whoa stop what you're doing" and green meaning "Go on with the great behavior." If I see something distracting I will take a yellow but if I see something great I will take a green. I will then give them a daily behavior grade based on what I have. The colors can cancel out
too. So if I have a yellow and green it would be like losing none. If I have green that's a plus in the behavior side. If I have a yellow that's a minus. Like I said it's not all planned out. I would like them to keep them on their desks so I have easy access with no disturbance but I will really have to practice the not playing with them during class. I will also use these with my redirection forms. Depending on the behavior they may need an immediate redirection form to fill out. If it's something that's stopped right away like talking then I will not have them fill out the redirection form until the second time around. Redirection forms go home on Friday. Any experienced third grade teachers have any input? Is this just too crazy? Is it not going to work at all?
