Good luck and call centers By Cathy-Dee

First on the call center. If they are anything like what we have in Canada they are basically large companies that employ a number of people who answer phones for numerous other companies. For example companies that call| for donations, comapnies that sell things on TV or over the radio, etc., often use a call-center rather than hire their own operators. If you enjoy talking to people then it definitely can be a good job for you. Personally I would find it more stressful than teaching, but then that's my personality. I do agree that teaching is not the career for everyone. Sometimes you can get turned |
| off by the job market, having positions that require way too much of you, having administration that is not supportive, etc.,Teaching is a second career for me and I know from experience that the work force no matter what job we are in can be a negative or positive factor in our lives. The other side of the fence is not always as green as we hoped. I guess that's why I always encourage teachers to stick it out for as long as possible. But there are other opportunities when you have an education degree as well. - working for an educational company - teaching at a college level instead - working for a museum, zoo, conservatory, space center, etc., helping to develope educational programs. And of course having a degree often just opens the doors to other jobs simply because you have one. For those who feel they need to leave teaching I truly hope you do find the career out there that does satisfy you and make you happy. We all should be able to enjoy getting up in the morning and heading out to work
