I was new teaching 3rd 2 years ago. This year I start 5th. The thing I needed that I didn't have right away was a job chart. From day one the kids asked me can I do this, can do that. Then they argue. I don't put a lot of posters and displays up before school starts. I hang charts we make, graphic organizers, student work, etc. as we do them. If I think of anything else, I'll post more.Linda
