We also outline the year
By Kiki

Clip to ScrapBook
At the end of the year my team gets together with all of our standards, texts, additional curriculum and outlines the year. We follow the basal in reading because 2 of the teachers LOVE the basal. (I, however, do not love
it, so I add my own stuff at the end) For math, we follow the "natural flow" as well as an additional curriculum the school pays for. In science we kind of just decide what should be taught closest to "the test" etc.

Here's what we do: We get a bunch of blank calendar pages, decide our standard (in the ways I mentioned above) and then correlate our textbooks to that. At the end

we know that we have covered all of the benchmarks and have a rough outline of the way the year will go. It is particularly helpful because we know that we are all on the same page and although the members of our team teach very differently and supplement very differently we are at least teaching the same standard in the sam week. I hope this is helpful to you.
