What have you used before?

Is this a new position for you? Are you in a district that has a behavior management plan in place?

In the middle grades, the greatest behavior management plan is to make a connection with your students. If they like you they are more apt to do things for you and behave in your classroom. You could also incorporate some type of economics in your classroom. What are you teaching? The students could earn play money and then spend on things like free time, sit in teacher's chair, sit by friend, bring a snack to class, etc. This teaches them economics and how to save for what they really want.
