The beginning weeks of school will be spent (usually) on basic principals of the curriculum. There are a lot of parents who send their children to K-5 without any prior education. This is fine! Kindergarten is , as I tell my parents, the foundation for their entire education. Your son will be "brought up to speed" soon. The new and advanced lessons should not begin until September or October. Just review EVERYTHING that is sent home and he should do very well.
