Music in classroom
By Anne

Clip to ScrapBook
I play classical music during writers' workshop and math (not every day). I taught in an early childhood center which promoted this. It is great for calming students. It is patterning and themes on a whole different level. I am sure it stimulates the brain in many ways! If a student goes off task, they are usually "conducting" or humming and moving. As long as they are quiet it does not seem to bother most students. Some cannot handle the distraction. But, part of their education will be to learn strategies to work through that! I provide carrolls and other accommodations for them. By the way, I teach 1st! ~ Anne
