Spelling
By Lynn H.

Clip to ScrapBook
I also have the same problem. What I will probably do is just send home the weekly words from our basal (since I do most of my Guided Reading using our basal.) However, I make a big chart of the spelling words and we look over them as part of Word Work. You could do on-the-back activities with your spelling words once a week. I'm also thinking of sending home some of the Word Wall words each week as part of the spelling list. One of my biggest problems last year was I didn't make kids accountable for their spelling of the Word Wall words. I think I'll focus on that more this year. If you have any ideas, please share. I think a lot of us are stuck in the same required-spelling-grade boat.
