one reason I'm spending my own $$ is that our individual classroom supply budgets have been slashed in half. We have been getting a "bare bones" school budget to avoid cutting staff. We do have a supply closet but our secretary guards it and has the only key. We also have a new principal who is "very good"with budget. (read a penny pincher). Another reason I buy things on my own is that I want the materials NOW,not in Septemberand I like to look at what I am buying.
(and you're right - there are some boards where its just not safe to disagree)
