pencils...

Clip to ScrapBook
You've already had quite a bit of input on this subject so I will try to keep it simple. As one part of morning procedures (unpack bags, coats, get out home work...) students may sharpen 2 pencils at the beginning of the day. The other "legal" time is at the end of the day. Otherwise it is up to the student to borrow a pencil or use small sharpener on his or her own.

2nd graders can do an incredible amount of activities on their own when given guidelines and opportunities to practice. I've taught for five years and this past was my first as a 2nd grade teacher. It's a great age!
