Math Trailblazers
By Tabitha

Clip to ScrapBook
My district has been using Trailblazers for the past two years. I am now feeling comfortable enough using this series, but I also use other worksheets and activities to help build upon the concepts being taught. It is a good series, but can be confusing at times. Just pace yourself and reread what it is you are supposed to be teaching at the time. I get to know my 5th graders first then I adjust the lessons accordingly. I am not sure how you can use it teaching a 4/5 split other than use the curriculum from the 4th grade level and then add on to the lessons to make it harder for the 5th graders. Since what they learn in 4th is built upon in 5th that might be your best bet unless you seperate the 4th and 5th and teach them that way. Good luck.
