homework
By Lynn H.

Clip to ScrapBook
I give daily homework to my second graders. I require students to read 20 minutes (recording date, title, time read and parent initials DAILY on a Reading Record Log), do one sheet of math, and practice their facts. I send home spelling words at the beginning of the week. Sometimes I send home science or social studies work, but my kids don't get a lot of home support so I try to stick to the basics. If you have a really responsible group of parents, weekly homework might work. My kids needed daily reminders of what to do. Good luck.
