A few years back when I got into the system I am in, I went back and took classes according to what it was the district was 'into' at the moment. By that I mean, they were looking for reading experts, because of the accredidation process. I took about 8 graduate credits on my own and eventually , after 3 tries, was hired.
They saw my willingness to 'train' for what they needed. I, of course, was already 'trained' but my transcript now had the official classes they felt were necessary. This was just my experience.
For me, my husband and family were here and I needed to teach here, where I am at now. Perhaps you would consider a 'job fair' in another state.Don't give up. Good luck.
