Clip to ScrapBook
The nice thing about the binder is that kids can take their written piece out to turn the page to go to their revising checklist to do revision work, etc. You know what you could do? The first page of the duotang could be
one of those clear protector sheets - it's a clear pocket that you slide papers into - then in the duotang any checklists or whatever and looseleaf. At the back of the book students could put finished writing or it could go into a portfolio. I wouuld use a separate duotang for spelling with word lists, looseleaf and a separate spelling test book. I think that the binder is easier and takes
less room - they can even stand along a shelf - and you can have some extra graphic organizers in them ready to use for prewriting at any time - and you can have poetry writing, spelling, all writing together hence not so much of a need to look for this or that.
