"Time" theme
By Lisa

Clip to ScrapBook
You could wrap a large time line of the year around your room and leave space to record events, subjects taught, pictures of the class doing things, etc. as the year goes on. Some buletin board ideas could be some large
clocks. Then make some wristwatches that the kids could use to write their names and birthdates on and put a picture of their faces for the face of the watch. Get a small sand filled egg timer to use for transitions or to time responses. Another perpetual board could be to make a clock or calendar page template that the kids record the mont's learning on every month. For the first one,
they put their name and date, and the words "As Time Goes By... My Year-of-Learning
Journal". Each month they put their name, the month, and drawings/words/or representations of things taught or done that meant something to them. Every month you put a new page on top of the old one. At the end of the year, you add a back page (the front and back should be done on card stock) and send them home! You could even add two blank pages that they could get autographs on at the end of the year.) Oh yeah, they should cut out the shape of the item you use. This is great for not having to think up a new board!
