work and student teaching

I was working as an instructional aide, while I was going to college. When it was time for me to do my student teaching, I did have to take a leave of absence from my job. I had the advantage because I already knew most of the children, but I did have to take the leave. They hired me a "sub" to fill my position during the time I was completing my student teaching.Hope this helps...every school is different..
