interview
By Susan

Clip to ScrapBook
When we interview prospective teachers, their appearance is the first thing we see. Dress nicely and have on a smile. It doesn't help to look like you don't want to be there by being too serious. Think of answers to possible
questions, so you'll be prepared when similar ones are asked. Also, take your resume with a copy for everyone (if more than the principal interviews). It gives them something to look at and takes some of the pressure off of you, plus it lets them see what experience you have with kids, even if it's not in the classroom (babysitting, church work, etc...), in addition to your student
teaching. End with asking them if they mind if you walk around and tour the school - look interested in their school. Send a thank you note the next day.
