There is a big difference in referring to a group behind their back and calling a student a name to his or her face. I steer clear of these resource rooms because of the fighting, name calling, refusal to work temper tantrums, arguments between students and assistants etc..

Also there are all of those IEPs laying around. You get bored at times and might be tempted to look at the papers. Or you might be perceived as looking at the CONFIDENTIAL stuff. And if a student gives you a hard time, it is hard to not talk about it away from school which is a NO NO in this age of confidentiality.

Also you have the same students for the entire day in some instances.
