    sue: Do you ever use the wrong-doing (or right-doing) of a child in your classroom as a teachable moment for the class as a whole? Sure, it would be great if we teachers had the time and ability to take children aside for their actions because they don't enjoy the spotlight....but, have you ever considered that since we are a classroom community and as such all of our actions affect the group as a whole, maybe it's not a bad idea to discuss the behavior in question with the whole class so that everyone can learn from it? I think it helps to teach children to respect each other and the community.
