My class is reading Behind the Bedroom Wall as a read aloud. The students are making "Little Books" in which they must write a short summary and draw an illustration for each chapter of the book after I have read it aloud. (This would also work for independent reading) Students must incorporate vocabulary from the chapter into each summary. They also created a cover page to include the title, author and an illustration and a page listing the characters. We used one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 paper with 2 congruent rectangles drawn for each page of our "Little Books".
