I'd definitely have some fun with them on your last day of teaching before your little one arrives

A movie is a great idea as it does tend to keep the student's settled down.

You could also do a few activities around the fact you are having a baby. Perhaps they could vote on whether they think you are having a boy or a girl.

If you got some quilt squares you could have them each draw a design/picture and sign their name on one square and then either yourself or someone else could sew them together to make a little baby quilt.

You could also spend some time preparing them for their substitute teacher. They could make short notes or letters to their new teacher. They could tell them what they like the best about school. They could share one nice thing about their class they want their new teacher to know. They could ask one question to their new teacher that they would like to know about him or her. This might help the transition a bit and also make that new teacher feel really welcome and already a part of the class.

You could also take some time with your class to do a "room" clean-up for their new teacher (unless you are way more organized than I am and your classroom is already nice and tidy

Let us know when your little one arrives!
