letter writing

Have students write to a favorite book character from a read aloud. Fairy tale characters are great! Arrange ahead of time for a fifth grade class to write back. That way, students can learn proper friendly letter writing form as well as how to address an envelope. Motivation will be high as students realize that they just may get a response!
