Don't feel bad. Your Principal was wrong for reprimanding you. He/she should nip this situation in the bud. Most parents think they have angels instead of devils. Next time she does it I would ignore the child and tell the principal or call someone from another class to see them in action. Even video the child and show what they are doing in class.
