Absurd things

I had one parent upset over a grade her child received on a paragraph he turned in. He had received a C because it was not on topic (though well written) and didn't have a rough draft or sloppy copy attached, which I require on paragraph assignments. The parent said she had written the paragraph herself and had always made As in school, so why did he get a C?
