Facts
By Kathy

Clip to ScrapBook
I have my 5th grade students compose their own list of facts from the assigned reading. I've found this is the best way to teach "facts". For example, "Write five important facts about Marco Polo's exploration" Then have the class share their lists, compiling a group list on the overhead or chalkboard. I've also had them "draw the main idea" and write 5 supporting details about your drawing. This works well with inclusion classes.
