I agree to spice up the center. Regarding the math center you could try to first of all make it more visually appealing by putting up posters of astronauts, rockets, the solar system etc or some other career that uses math and is able to draw the students attention. Then you could have some kind of worksheets or math problems that have to do with the theme and make them part of this learning center experience.
