The best thing you can do is spend as much time in different grade level classrooms as possible. This way you can see what age level you want to focus your studies.
I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a teacher, but not everyone is cut out for it. There is a lot more to it than just to love working with kids. The more experience you can get the better.
