Sounds like the little girl was just craving the attention...the way she was showing off the glasses to everyone around her... perhaps there is another issue at hand, such as the need for attention or being in the spotlight... I wonder how much attention she gets at home.... you bet she knew the risks of stealing, but probably decided it was worth it for just the attention... you're right, though, that really does take the cake.
