If you are in a district with a number of elementary schools, you might be able to transfer to another building. I would check that out first.
Another option is looking without quitting. It's that old "a bird in the hand.." concept. If something else is available and looks good, take it. If not, do a second year unless it makes you crazy. If you absolutely can't stand it there, even a non-teaching job would be better.
