I agree with Anne about third graders' parents. I have taught 1st, 5th, 6th and 3rd and I was very unhappy in third grade because of the parents. Third grade is such a transition year and some of the parents can't deal with the raised expectations. Keep your chin up! You sound like you are really going out of your way to help. Some people are just never happy and it sounds like you've gotten more than your share!
