I wouldn't worry

I would not feel bad about saying no to a job. That is the joy of being a sub. You can work where you want, when you want. The lady that called was probably just frustrated because she couldn't find anyone to take the job. I don't think you look bad. I personally only sub in elementary because I don't care for the older grades. I say no to those jobs all the time. I still continue to get called.
