I am not sure what grade level you are at. But there is a new book out by Marybeth Allen and Maureen McLaughlin called Guided Comprehension: A Teaching Model for Grades 3-8. There are MANY ideas here you can use with any book at any level. They are just outstanding strategies. I have not seen the primary companion book. But Maureen McLaughlin has written a comprehension strategy book for the primary level as well. Hope you find something good!
