turns out when i got back to work, i asked the principal what to do and he was furious that other teachers were doing the snack- no one had asked him and he doesn't think it's appropriate!!! so the mother came in a couple of days later, sweet as pie to my face, not like she was to my sub. i explained what the principal said and she went to talk to him and he said no! so i guess it's in his lap now, thank god!
