Calendar Activities in 4th grade

I do many activities with the calendar. It is student directed and very exiting for them. We do a weather graph (many times we just pick a type of weather we like because in Texas there's only hot and hotter). The students come up with all sorts of fractions. Ex. Fridays/total days, days left/total days, rainy days/total days, etc. Occasionally they will spot a different fraction that hadn't occurred to me. We also incorporate patterns, odd/even, and birthdays to it. Hope this helps! =)
