Wait and see might be the best approach...

until you get there, you won't really know what the previous teacher did with her groups. When I did support for grades 4-7, some students were sent with classroom work for extra help and some came with nothing and I planned activities to focus on areas of concern. It might be a mixed bag for you too...I am sure you will get some direction from the previous teacher or the teachers in the school who you are supporting...
