As I gave this more thought, I really think these parents are setting their kids up for an unhappy future. I mean, if you think about it, there are a lot of things we have to do that are boring and not mentally challenging. These kids are going to have to sit through dull meetings for their jobs, wait in line at the DMV, wash dishes, etc., etc., etc. Maybe it would be better if they learned NOW, while they're in second grade, that life isn't always fun.
