I teach K and this happens all the time. I don't sweat it much because looking at a child's development level this is natural. Usually most children continue to reverse letter while still in the first semester of first grade. I would just remind the students is a postive manner that the letter or number is backward and let them change it on their own. Their brain's development is not yet where we as teachers and parent want it to be, let the child progress on his/her own.
